Walker County Animal Control is dedicated to protecting the humans and animals of Walker County, Georgia through complaint-based investigations and community outreach through animal welfare education. If you have questions regarding a case, stray animal pick-up, or file an animal related complaint such as; animals at large, neglect/abuse, or any other animal related issue, please call Animal Control dispatch at 706-924-0053. Dispatch hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Animal Control is not the Animal Shelter. Animal Control responds to reports of stray animals, bite cases, aggressive animals, etc. The Animal Shelter is where animals are housed and cared for until reclaimed by their owners, adopted or rescued.

3 Animal Control officers work a case

During regular business hours (8:00am-5:00pm) please call 706-924-0053 to request an Animal Control Officer be dispatched. Please do NOT call 911 and tie up vital emergency lines with stray calls. If you are calling to report a stray, or any other complaint that does not qualify as an emergency, leave a voicemail and a team member will respond.

911 (After hours/weekends) – Officers will respond to emergency calls including sick or injured animals, animals in immediate danger, aggressive animals, dog bites that are actively at large, and law enforcement assistance.
