Code Enforcement Officers carry out rules set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code, which Walker County adopted on February 19, 2015, along with the Public Nuisance section of the county code of ordinances.
Citizen Complaints
Did you know you can report an issue with codes, roads or animals on a computer, tablet or smartphone? Simply visit our iWorQ Citizen Portal to request service. Once you enter the issue, you can track the progress in the portal.Along with codes, roads and animals, users can also ask general questions, inquire about renting a county facility and alert the county of concerns with permitting and inspections, drainage and the landfill.
A key feature of the portal gives users the ability to upload and send a picture of their problem to Walker County.
Community Partners
A partnership between Walker County Government and Project 52 (P52) produces positive code enforcement outcomes for the county, the non-profit organization and the residents being served. If a code enforcement officer encounters someone in need of assistance cleaning up their property, the county refers them to P52. The non-profit organization sits down with the resident and reviews their circumstances, before deciding if they can help.
