The Landfill is open to receive the following materials:
- MSW (Municipal Solid Waste, i.e. household waste/ garbage) = received daily
- Brush/ Trees = received daily
- Tires = received daily
- Scrap Metal and Batteries = received daily
- Recyclable Cardboard/ Paper/ Plastic
- C&D (Commercial & Demolition) = received Monday through Saturday. Please call ahead on Saturday for available trailer space. We will take large loads of C&D on Saturday if we have enough trailer space.
The Walker County Landfill provides an essential service to the community, as the proper disposal of waste reduces health hazards and environmental concerns. Residents are asked to observe several guidelines:
- No loose household garbage. All household garbage must be bagged.
- Please limit trips
- Bring your own tools
- No scavenging allowed
The Walker County Landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is CLOSED on Sunday. All customers must offload their waste and exit the facility by 4:00 p.m. Large loads that cannot be unloaded quickly may be turned away. Please arrive with enough time to unload your waste. We reserve the right to refuse any waste at any time.
